Strunk and White's classic guide to writing clearer, more effective prose seems an unlikely candidate for audio--it's largely a list of rules and examples of good and bad usage--but this production works well. THE ELEMENTS OF STYLE has long held a nearly scriptural appeal for devotees, and with McCourt at the mike, delivering the book in his rolling Irish brogue, it's easier than ever to hear the voice of God, or something like it, behind its sensible advice.
