I Love You - Now Hush

While Melinda Rainey Thompson was a stay-at-home mom raising her three children, she sent out a monthly mailing of witty essays she wrote about ordinary events from a Southern woman's perspective. In 2006, the best of these were compiled in SWAG: Southern Women Aging Gracefully. Following the success of that book, a second collection, The SWAG Life, was released in 2007. Now, Melinda is back but bringing someone new along for the ride. She met her coauthor, Morgan Murphy, when he was her student in English 101 at Birmingham-Southern College. Now, years later, Melinda and Morgan have teamed up to write a hilarious, heartfelt collection of essays on every topic under the sun about which men and women disagree: reading (or not reading) instruction manuals, shopping, keeping house, romance, yard work, and clothing, just to name a few. But their take on these common arguments is fresh and unexpected. Also covered in the book are quite a few not-so-common squabbles between the sexes, such as proper singing etiquette and hoarding mayonnaise jars.
